Step 3  -  NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.  Stop by the school to complete the the registration process & to bring your original documents.  
Your student is not registered until Step 3 is completed.

Pre-K registration for eligible 4-year-olds
will take place at the elementary
campus for which they are zoned.  

Pre-K students for 2017-18 school year
must be 4 years old
on or before September 1, 2017
and meet eligibility requirements.

  • Limited English proficient because a language other than English is the primary language spoken in the home.  Students qualifying by language will be tested to determine placement in the program.
  • Qualify according to the Federal Income Eligibility Guidelines.  Parents must bring proof of income of all persons employed within the home (documentation for at least one month of current income).  Proof of income can include current check stubs, child support statement of payment, SNAP or Food Stamp qualification letter, etc.
  • The family is homeless.
  • Have a parent who is an active member of the armed forces.
  • The child is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.  A letter from DFPS must be provided.
Original Documents for Registration

Original documents must be provided to school staff and they will copy and return to you.


Student’s Birth Certificate

Student’s Social Security Card  (If non-citizen, a passport is required)

Student’s Immunization Record

Proof of Residency:   
  • Original current utility bill for gas, electricity, bundled cable/phone, or water.
An original of a fully-executed, signed and dated by all parties, closing statement or a lease
agreement will be accepted, but an original current utility bill must be provided within 30 days of first day of school.  
Please note:  If the Parent/Guardian's name is not listed on the current bill/lease provided, you will need to complete a Residency Verification Form (see Additional Forms below).

Photo Identification of Adult Registering Student(s)  (must be Parent or Legal Guardian)

Student’s most recent report card and/or withdrawal paperwork (not required for KG students)-

Documentation of any educational program such as Gifted & Talented programs, Speech, Special Education, etc.  -  Parent/Guardian may need to complete additional release form.

Any Legal paperwork (Legal Name Change, Custody Information, Divorce Decree, and or Restraining Orders (if needed)
